The Project ART CARE already has a quite long history: Frantiček Klossner and Urs Schürch startet the project in 2017 with the intention to enrich the school-programme for future caregiving professionals in a new and unexpected way. Due to the extremely large public response, it quickly became clear that this project must be continued. Since 2017, the project took place in several schools in the german and in the french part of Switzerland. It offers students a unique opportunity to visualise their personal experiences and emotions from their professional environment in the form of art-works … in a visual and nonverbal form. The works created in school lessons speak a direct and honest language. Each work of art offers a direct insight into the job-specific situation faced by healthcare professionals. It’s contemporary art which grows OUT OF LIFE ! First-hand experiences ! Experiences to share ! Emotions to share ! Already then … three years before the COVID-Pandemic the project made very clear to a wide audience: The so-called «Systemic Importance» of care-professions. These are only some of the reasons why the project attracted such an overwhelming public interest since 2017.

In memory of Phillip Sandblom (1903-2001), his wife Grace (née Schaefer, 1907-2006) established a fund. By supporting annual lectures and other activities, the memory of Phillip Sandblom is to be honored in a lively manner. The goals to which Grace and Phillip Sandblom were so passionately committed, both in medicine and in the visual arts and humanities, are to be further developed and honored. With the SANDBLOMDAGEN series of events, which takes place every October on Philip Sandblom's birthday, Lund University continuously pursues these goals: lectures, exhibitions, and concerts strengthen the transdisciplinary dialogue between art, medicine, and the humanities.

The evolution of an outstanding oeuvre in contemporary Swiss multimedia art. I Melt, Therefore I Am! Franticek Klossner is a pioneer of performance and media art in Switzerland. Transcending boundaries, he combines the means of expression of visual and performing arts. Klossner sheds his skin like a snake in order to constantly reinvent himself. This also enables visualising the stages of his evolution as a person and as an artist. In this major monograph, Franticek Klossner for the first time presents his multimedia oeuvre in its entirety. This body of work, consisting of performances, video art, medical imaging, drawings, and silhouettes, is contextualised from various perspectives through contributions by numerous international authors. Surveys of Klossner's previous exhibitions and his works in public collections, as well as a complete catalogue of his video art, make this volume a valuable resource and reference for public and private collectors alike. Contributions by numerous international authors from various disciplines frame Franticek Klossner's art from various perspectives . Richly illustrated, largely with previously unpublished images from Franticek Klossner's archive 280 illustrations.
